UNION TEXTILE MINISTER TO INAGURATE
INDIA INTERNATIONAL LEATHER FAIR 2010, CHENNAI
The Silver Jubilee edition of India International Leather Fair (IILF) will be inaugurated by Hon'ble Union Minister of Textile Thiru. Dayanidhi Maran at Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam, Chennai at 4.00pm on January 31,2010. The fair is a B2B even and is open to business visitors only from February 1-3, 2010 from 10 am to 7 pm.

The fair is organized by India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) in collaboration with Council for Leather Exports (CLE) and supported by Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI), India Shoe Federation (ISF), Indian Finished Leather Manufacturers and Exporters Association (IFLMEA) and Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI).

The display area in the fair spreads over 8400sq. mts. with 434 exhibitors participating, of which 172 participants are from 24 countries such as Bangladesh, China, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Iran, Italy, Kenya, Malaysia, Nepal, New Zealand, Russia, Saudi, Arabia, South Korea, Spain, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, The Netherlands, Turkey, UAE, United Kingdom and USA. This year's participation represents an increase of 10% in terms of display area and 13% in terms of number of participants compared to the last edition. There in group participation from China, France, Germany, Italy and Thailand. France is participating with group of companies for the first time.

The display profile covers the entire range of products and services relating to leather Industry-Footwear and footwear components, leather garments, fashion accessories, leather goods like travelware, purses, wallets, belts, gloves portfolios, handbags, finished leather, machinery and equipment for tanning, shoe making, dryers, stitching sewing machines, finishing machines, chemicals for leather industry, publications and consultancy services.

A Theme Pavilion showcasing both the Evolution of the Indian Leather Industry and its future growth, with an array of world-class merchandise of display; for the Spring/Summer 2011 season, is being set up at the fair. To make the event more meaningful, seminars on topics of interest to industry, presentations and BSMs are scheduled to be held on the sidelines of the fair.

The Fair has received an overwhelming visitor response, CLE and ITPO have made arrangements for visit potential business visitors to the fair from a large number of countries. In addition, confirmation from many business visitors from abroad and India has been received.

In order to facilitate the visitors and avoid rush on the opening day of the fair, arrangements have been made to start visitor registration from 30th January, 2010 afternoon.

Entry to the fair is by invitation and ticket, which is priced at Rs. 200/-. Children are not allowed.
