markets by Peter Mangione
- Peter Mangione is the Managing Director and founder of global Footwear Partnerships (GFP) and a recognized authority on the global footwear sector, having served from 1981 to 2009 as President of the Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America (FDRA) , the largest shoe trade association in the US .
Mr. Mangione is a member of the UNIDO leather panel and a regular speaker at all global footwear forums.
- Footwear retail in India: The example of Woodland by Harkirat Singh
Mr. Harkirath Singh is the Managing Director of his families owned business. Woodlands parent company , Aero Group, has been a well known name in the shoe industry in India since the early 50s . In 1992 it launched Woodland which caught immediately the attention of outdoor enthusiasts. Today Woodland expanded its business from shoes to a whole outdoor lifestyle experience and has 350 stores worldwide and 3000 multi-brand outlets in a number of countries. It is one of the leading retailers in India.

MODEUROP was founded in the late 90s as organisation of the German institute of Footwear DSI and is now the fashion pool for the footwear sector in Europe where all the fashion information about leather, shoes and accessories can be found in a quick and informal way.
Dr. Claudia Schulz is a fashion and leather accessories consultant and journalist known all around Europe and above and collaborates since over 20 years with ModEurop.

Mr. Nickolaus Gerhard is the Managing Director of PFI Group , which provides a worldwide inspection service for manufacturing and trading companies active in the international marketplace.
Dr. Kerstin Schulte is the head of the department chemical analysis at the PFI in Pirmasens and an expert in analysis and evaluation of consumer products at the Institute.

Dr N K Chandrababu, is a PhD from Anna University in Leather Technology and is the Chief Scientist & head of the tannery Division of CSIR-CLRI. He is actively involved in cutting edge Research in Newer Leather processing, Cleaner Technologies, New material Development and assessment, Cleaner Curing Methods, Cleaner Leather Processing, Chrome Management, Dyeing and Finishing, Colour Matching, Natural dyes. Education and Training of B.Tech, M.Tech and PhD in Leather Technology; besides technical consultancies for the tanneries in the country and abroad are his other major thrust areas of interest. Dr Chandrababu is well travelled with a special focus on the enabling of Leather Sector in Africa.

She has extended consultancy to various government agencies and ministries which has given her the opportunity to closely work with Govt. officials at Planning Commission, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of MSME and various export promotion agencies/authorities e.g APEDA, NAFED,FIEO, MPEDA etc at Central level and similar organizations and Industry Associations at State level.
